We didn't have any trips after the exams in either year, but we had a trip to Thorpe Park at the start of both years  In Year 12, I went to London for a French conference and to APU for a UCAS fair, but there was also a trip to London to see a play for English. In Year 13, I went to London 3 times for English, French and history conferences and to Paris for the weekend for French. At the end of Year 13, we had a leavers' dinner at a country club.

There won't be any trips for me next year! However, I believe we all walk about two hundred metres from school to the bar on the final day of school and the whole year has a drink together. Not that it gets provided free of charge. :p:

We don't have any trips...we were gonna have a prom-type thing but no one wanted to go so it got cancelled :P Haha. There's like 600-700 people in my year though so a trip would be a bit weird.

All our school seem to be interested in is the amount of trips they can take students on. I've been to London and Manchester in the past 6 months. The Law group got to go to Belgium with an alcoholic teacher but the headteacher refused our request of a trip to Hollywood, with film studies, but the Maths group went to Barcelona and did nothing to do with Maths. We are going to Llandudno at the end of December for a revision trip and we are meant to be going to Chester Zoo with Psychology, for some bizarre reason.

The Maths class are also meant to be going to Valencia, again, nothing to do with Maths, and the Law class have also been to London as well.

We haven't had any trips - apart from a visit to a BOC bottling plant for physics....

Although, we did have a prom for the end of year. Most people are going on some sort of holiday too. And we've got an end of exams party arranged at a bar in the middle of Sheffield.

In year 12 we had a trip to Thorpe Park, but it was related to our coursework. Also had an economics trip to the LSE (London Stock Exchange) which was not really a trip as such as it was purely educational but we made it fun lol

Yeah - we have a ball/prom - whatever you want to call it as well. It's optional though because they can't expect everyone at an all-boys' school to find a partner!

In theory, I could be an escort on the evening, but people might make a particular assumption about me. Wouldn't want that! :p:

So you go to an all-boys, and the prom will be just all-boys? Lol sorry just never understood how proms work at all-boys/girls schools.

Allow me to explain:

1. A vast majority will be confident enough to find themselves a 'nice girl' from one of the neighbouring girls' schools - there are quite a lot near me, but only one all-boys' school!
2. A small number will be even more confident and go to the ball without a date, but the danger is that an assumption might be made about their - er - orientation.
3. An even smaller number (i.e. me) will turn in for a nice early night, not having worked up the confidence to do either! :p:

I didn't go on a single trip during sixth form. Nothing was ever organised. :frown:

Lucky you! In Year 12 we had an evening theatre trip, an ethics conference and an ecology field trip, plus a higher education fair and university open day. That was it, we've had nothing in Year 13! I used to love school trips, really want one :frown:

What's with dates?! Nobody went to our ball with dates! It'd be well embarrassing having to find a date lol.

We didn't do dates either, real life is not like the US cheesy teen flicks where everyone gets laid at their high school prom before going off to Yale.

We had a sort-of ball thing at an all-boys school and there was a real mix of gender - some people brought dates or friends, and lots of people at the girls' school across the road (which didn't have much of its own event) came as well (it was fairly open on who could buy a ticket) - it was a good night.

we have a big party, in a nightclub which be haired out for as, and then we all go brighton

I agree with you, but if you go to our Sixth Form ball, then you are expected to have a date.
