Hello everyone and thank you for reading my message,
At the moment, I'm willing to apply for the university of Edinburgh but there is a little problem. My aim is to get a MEng but they only have the BEng option in computer science with management.
I would like to know if it is possible to study 3 years of BEng and then continue the fourth one to get a MEng even if they don't give me this option right now.
I'm sorry if my question is too unusual, I'm not accustomed to the British studying system.

    Thank you.

The School of Informatics at Edinburgh doesn't have an MEng degree in Computer Science but does have an MInf degree in informatics which is five years long. Looking at the degree program tables for the two degrees, it doesn't look as if they clash at all. And the university is fairly flexible about switching degree program so I don't think this would be a problem.

Bear in mind that degrees at Scottish universities are typically a year longer than at English universities (unless you enter directly into the second year), so the BEng is in fact four years long. The amount of material covered on the four year programs is roughly somewhere between a three year bachelor's and a four year integrated masters.

If you wanted to do a proper master's degree afterwards, you would probably want to specialise in either management or computer science, and they wouldn't really care that much what your undergraduate degree was in as long as you did well and covered the basic prerequisites of your chosen field. Although it might be a bit early to be thinking about that right now, you'll probably have completely different goals in life by the time you finish your degree.
