Just got attacked

I was walking in a quiet area, and one guy came up and strangle my neck, and put his hand around me with alot of force. I tried to get away from him, using all the strength I had. In the end, my jacket was ripped. He was with another guy, who was just watching.

After a while, he let go and I walked off.

What I don't understand was that he didn't rob anything off me, I had a phone, and around £50. He didn't say he was going to take my stuff and he didn't use any weapons.

So, what was the point of attacking me? I was thinking if I didn't try to get away from him, then my jacket wouldn't of torn, its a new jacket.

What a ****, to be honest, just be thankful your not hurt. I know its a bit shocking, but was he drunk or anything. Report it to the police.

weird!

How come you walked and not ran? Maybe you should report this?

Bastards.
It happens. If your ok, that's whats important. My friend was walking in an admittedly dodgy area and a couple of guys walked up to him and just started laying into him, his girlfriend was right there and everything, ended up spending the next two days in hospital

Hope you can get your jacket repaired
RE police, not sure its worth the effort. They always tell me/my friends that they can't do anything unless they know who it is if its just random assault or mugging like that.

Call the police!

It's possible that when you struggled, he thought you weren't worth the effort - perhaps you were too strong for him to bother about. You should always struggle - you can replace clothes easily!

There are some ****wits in this world...
If you do remember what he looked like then i guess u should go report it. He could have had a mental condition. Or maybe he was just jealous of your jacket andcouldn't stand you wearing nicer clothes than him
Either way, good thing you're right as rain.

Eugh, this world is seriously filled with complete weirdos.
I'm really glad you're ok - it could have been so much worse.
Was he actually trying to choke you? Could you breathe?

There are some real wierdo's out there and also at this time of year -bored loser teenagers with nothing better to do... I was walking down a quite street near my house at 6pm last summer, and it was a Sunday evening, two little twerps on bikes rode past me (they stared at me whilst doing this) they turned round the corner in front of me, then when i got to the top of the street (near the corner) one jumped out and pushed me agianst the wall...

I was so shell shocked I didnt even do anything....I stood still for like 7 seconds (though it felt like 7 minutes) and so did he, he was pressing me against the wall and I started to struggle, he turned his head and said something to the other guy still on his bike in arabic (or whatever middle eastern lang they were speaking) and as he did,

I looked at him and thought 'eww i'm not gonna get raped by this skinny little punk' so i pushed him with all my strength and ran away, as I was doing this he chased me for a few seconds and tryed to grab my top...that was kind of scary and he shoted out 'Bitch'...when I got to the top I turned around and put my finger up and that was it.... I never told anyone cos I just thought whatever....

These kinds of things need to be reported because even if the police can't deal with the one specific incident, they need to know in case this is part of a series of attacks.

I think it should be reported anyway, this guy is obviously going to move on to someone he can attack and they won't be able to defend themselves.

I would report it as others have said incase this guy is a repeat offender.

Attacking people randomly is not on, if it happened to me it may make my paranoia when alone worse.

Call the police. It's a very serious assault and there is almost certainly CCTV footage of either the attack itself or the movements of the people involved. There is a good chance that the group are well known by police and they'll probably be caught. In the longer term, start doing a martial art. I'm a blue belt in Karate and although I'm not big and definitely not muscular, I could defend myself well enough to scare off an attacker.

You need to report it as he may attack someone else after you, pisses me off stuff like this, someone got a bit funny with my lil sister once at a bus stop, an i went looking for him in the car after with her, if id of found him he would of known about it. sick bastards

Had some lil ****ers start on my little brother right outside my house last summer, I came outside and they ran off, only to return with their 2 brothers. Fortunatly both these 'ard boys were 2 years younger then me, quite a bit shorter and alot more mouth then actual fight, Soon as i saw the first swing for me i reacted too fast for him, got a hit on his head. They literally stood there in shock before they realised someone was actually fighting back 2 v 1. What a joke, these people are total pussys who frequently run off if you fight back.

exactly, their all talk. Well unless they are looky trampy and look like the types who have guns and knives. I hate those types of people..And the stupid police always try and make excuses. Whats the point, the only way theylle notice is if we get murdered.

yes exactly let the police handle it!!

Just join a martial arts club. We live in a stupid society where major crimes are ignored and police waste their time elsewhere doing god-knows what.

If the guy was strangling you from in front or behind, first thing i learned in karate, AIM FOR HIS BALLS!!! knee, kick or low blow him whatever, jst aim there so he will loosen grip

You strike me as hard of thinking - Report it to the police - chavs/idiots dont need a reason - bordem is sufficent - even if the police cant do anything its on the record.
