    The former, is presumably the latent heat of fusion is the energy input, typically heat, required to change a solid into a liquid.

    The latter is presumably the latent heat of vaporisation and is similarly defined but for a liquid into a gas.

    Note, that these will typically be defined for 1 mole of a substance under standard pressure.

    Thanks man. I was struggling to find decent definitions. The textbooks I looked through had nothing and there was nothing in the spec. Its on a revision book my teacher gave me so I assume I need to know it. Ty
