    Hi all

I currently hold an unconditional offer to start a PhD in Politics at Edinburgh in September. I've been told that I have missed out on all the funding I applied for. Since I've been working for a few years, I have built up some savings, which are enough to cover the first year of the course. After that, however, I'm a bit stuck. I'm wondering what scope there is to apply for scholarships and other sources of University funding to cover the second and third year? Does anyone have an experience of this?
Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
