Queen Mary - Basketball?

Hi,
I am planning on going to Queen Mary next year to study computer science I'm a big fan of basketball and was wondering what the basketball team is like there.

Would also be grateful if someone could tell me where the nearest indoor and outdoor courts are in the QM area and what the QM Sportshall is like because I didn't get to see it on the open day unfortunately.

Thanks

The gym facilities are all being upgraded in a multi-million pound deal I believe - whether this includes the rennovation of basketball courts etc, I have no idea. The sports hall to be honest isn't the most lavish.

There are a few outdoor courts in the main parks opposite and around QMUL. Mile End Park has outdoor astro turf pitches, although I can't recall basketball posts. Stepney Green is also astro turf, but again, I can't recall basketball posts.

Actually - in Mile End Park, I think there is both an astro turf with concrete next door. I swear the girls netball team play here, so in that case, there must be basketball courts.

Looks like it does include new courts, albeit with use as a member.

Yep very good.........issue is that the court is used for other things as well.........so trying to book some of the court for yourself can be hard. There are sessions they run for anyone regularly with other things.........also you got to pay.
Though I would say, Basketball at QM isn't amazing, its lacking generally.

If you wanna play Basketball, you can join the basketball team. If you just want to play casually, you don't have to pay. If you do want to be part of the team it's 45 quid though. The atmosphere is really good, it's like being in one big family, it's all good fun. I joined recently, and they make you feel really welcomed.
