Hey guys, firmed Liverpool for September 2016! Just thought I'd made a new thread on discussing which halls are best etc.
Any advice on what to choose? I would say Crown Place and Vine court looks the best, but apparently it's not very social compared to the student villages like Carnatic.

This is my criteria for accommodation: (not in order of importance)
    -distance to main campus
    -quality of accommodation
    -number of 1st year undergraduates
    -how social

Basically my ideal would be a very social residency, but the rooms can't be too scruffy or old, and how convenient it would be to your studies (ie. distance to lectures)

    Any ideas?
Also what are you guys thinking and picking?

Hi, im looking to firm liverpool too!
Have you looked at the accomodation? Apparently the student villages are supposed to be most living and social, and they are a good 15 minute bus ride from the uni and town etc, and its £300 for a bus pass ish
Now for me these were horrendous! They are so expensive for what you get, it is literally unlivable for me as i don't want catered, or that type of catering at all now.
I don't really know what i am going to do either as i know crown place/vine court will be gone by now'

I'm wondering this too - I'm studying nursing and would like to find a halls that's for people who might have to get up early (i.e. quiet) because they have that at John Moores but it doesn't seem they exist at Liverpool! Ideally I'd like to find people to find a house with as it'd be way cheaper.

Hi, I've firmed liverpool too for 2016.
For my accomodation I booked at Europa and now i'm not too sure how many 1st year Liverpool uni students go there and it is a 20 minute walk away.
Do you reckon i should stick with it or try and cancel

Hey! I've applied for Liverpool in September too and my criteria is similar to yours!

I've applied for Melville Grove because I felt like it matched most of them.

    - It's on campus - a really short walk from everywhere so don't need a taxi or bus pass.
    - The cheapest uni owned accommodation available
    - It's been fully refurbished for 2016 so everything is really clean and modern - never lived in!
    - It's self catered and share a kitchen with 5-7 other people
    - Because it's one of the smaller halls there's less wardens etc. so you can be louder and host more parties

Only thing is that its a shared bathroom with 1 other person which isn't actually bad. Another thing is it might be like taking a risk because no ones lived there since 2013 so no one really knows how to social side will be. But I'm going there and I'm confident that it'll be really good if other party people join me.

    Hey!

Melville was refurbished in three seperate parts. Come this September, one part will have already had 2 students living in it, another part will only have had one student living in it, and it the third part that has been the most recently refurbished and never lived in! So it has been lived in lol, and its two bathrooms between 7. There are still residential advisers that are always on the prowl, and you do get told off if parties are too loud! Think next year though there is going to be A LOT more study abroad people, so don't know how that will change the feel of the place. Never the less its all still very new and a great choice From a current Melville resident lol

You have to accept your offer you've been given and then put yourself on a waiting list for your preferred acommodation - you can't go on this waiting list without having accepted your offer. You can withdraw from your accepted offer within 7 days of accepting it but the time on the waiting list could take weeks, even when the term has started. You just have to secure your place on the waiting list and hope for the best!

Hi, Can you tell me why you chose Melville instead of Tudor?

And each bathroom is shared between 3/4 persons in Melville?

Actually, I am one of the study abroad people you were referring to, since my choices are only between Melville and Tudor.
