On the residency evidence forms that i have to fill in, they ask for previous and current addresses followed by the question - Why were you there? I'm not sure as to what they are looking for, i need a reason for having a home?

You need a reason for being in the UK, other than just for education. Maybe you moved to an address because your parent(s) got work in a new town. The parent(s) you were living with moved closer to relatives. You got a job in a new town. The rental contract on your previous address expired and you had to move to a new address. Something like that.
