Hi I was thinking about applying for the Medic role in the RAF but seen that it has closed

does anybody know when it will re open and the chances of it being soon?

My alternative is Regiment Gunner, what do the people of TSR think of that?

Hi, I doubt anyone on here has the experience or knowledge to tell you how long a trade could be closed for. It's the age old saying of 'how long is a piece of string' as no one can accurately predict when the trade will re-open apart from the people who are in the know. Best thing is to get in contact with your AFCO or get yourself on the mailing list on the RAF recruitment website and they will notify you when the trade opens again.

With regards to the your alternative which is RAF Regiment Gunner, are you looking into that because you can genuinely see yourself being in the RAF Regiment or are you only looking into that because RAF Medic isn't an option at the moment because, if I'm honest, it is probably best just to bite the bullet and get your head down and wait for the RAF Medic trade if that is your first choice.

The best thing you could do is head down to the AFCO and get as much information you can on both of the roles and make your decision then! If you really want to be a medic then why settle for your second choice? Hope this helps 😊
