How many references roughly should be in a 2000 word report?

I'm used to doing 3000 word essays and just feel for a report style assignment I may not need as many references? as its also an analysis of my own experience during placement? just wanted to see if anyone knows what an appropriate amount would be?

I have a study coach and she says no such thing as a limit on how much you need. She does say as a guide line a 2k word essay should have roughly 20 references.
However its personal experience so back your experience with references. I just did a similar assignment and I used 8. (I got 72 in mark 1k word essay reflective)
