Don't need any maths help, I just have a question. In C1, there are many ways in finding a gradient, like drawing a tangent of a point. Or drawing multiple chords until it converges to a point. Rather than differentiating to find the gradient. Should Iknow this, it is in my textbook (which is pretty old- 2004)?

I've just not seen any exam questions on them, so is it something I should know?

    Thanks.

You just need to be able to differentiate.

The rest is background knowledge that may help your understanding of the topic.
