Well I study Scots Law, and for me the biggest area that needs to be improved right now is Succession Law.

Current legislation can be confusing and tricky to navigate, even for solicitors, to the extent that it is the second highest area of the law that entertains the most complaints.

Also, current legislation has increased the figures in Prior rights meaning that in many families across Scotland, children's rights in Intestate Succession are diminishing.

There has been new legislation brought in last month that has tried to improve the current system but many sections have been drafted very poorly.

Cohabiting Partners' rights are also an area of concern, because as more and more couples refrain from getting married, and with many citizens across Scotland not having a will in place, cohabiting partners are being left disentitled to any partner's property as they legally do not have any rights under Scots Intestate SuccessionLaw.
