Like how feeling down every so often is normal, is having quite a low self esteem one of those things that you grow out of and is normal?

It is normal. Social circles and peer pressure just pile up and snide comments seem to get to teens about appearance and so on. I suppose you don't really grow out of it, you just get used to feeling down and dealing with it in a better way than you did before.

Agreed. Do some retail therapy or if you're like me, spend time with good friends and you'll realise it's normal and it happens to everyone.

I say to an extent it's certainly widespread and common, though it's upsetting that it is.
