Do you know any good libraries in London that offer qualityeconomics books? I’ve been trying to develop my interest in economics further, but my school library/ local library does not offer any apart from Freakonomics. My family is also unwilling to pay for my expenditure on economics books except on my birthdays (that's one book). Iwould really like to be able to assess them but I have no idea how.

    Hi
I have also tried to do some background reading before I went to university. Here is some advice.
First of all, what do you want to read and what economics books you are looking for ? Textbooks or leisure (nontechnical ) books ? I guess you are looking for textbook since you mentioned freakonomics. the names of books in economics are quite boring. You can try introductory economics or macroeconomics or microeconomics or econometrics etc. Google is very powerful in searching certain pdf.

However, I still consider freakOnomics as a very accessible guide to introductory economics. You only get the models taught in year 1 economics by reading the textbook and they are rather useless in explaining the intuition unless you have a reasonable high level of math to follow.
