    Guys Im confused:
    Why the reactivity decreases down the 7th group but increases down the second one ?? In both shielding increses and the radius increases so how does that happen ?

    group 7 it's more difficult for the nucleus of the atom to attract an electron to fill the outer energy level due to an increase in shielding
    group 2 it's easier to to lose an electron due to an increase in shielding and pull from the nucleus is weaker due to this

    Group 2 lose electrons to become charges whereas Group 7 gain electrons to become charged, so shielding increases, so its harder to attract another electron...
