Dress code is formal, its from 8pm on 16th June til 6am on 17th June on whiteknights campus. I take it youve already got a wristband (as its sold out now)? If so you'll need money for drinks, food (if you want it), fairground rides, etc. Most of the money is spent on the wristband.

WRISTBANDS?! All I can say is, I bloody hope my partner's got mine!

What goes re: dress code? Obviously no denim or trainers.... but is it 'ballgown' type formal or would a smart top and trews be OK

Well its meant to be proper formal, as in suits/tux for guys and formal dresses for the ladies, but you need to bear in mind that it is all on grass and mostly outdoors... so you might not want to go over-the-top. Im sure youre partner has one a wristband for you, its what you get when you pay for it and theyve been on sale for a while.

Aaaah, right! Thanks a lot. I didn't want to ask her, as I didn't want to know her outfit (I want to be dazzled by her when I go!) and I was in a real panic about how to dress up... I got a dress today, though.

I take it stillies (stilettos - sharp pointed heels) are a bad idea, then?

Mark, what you going to wear buddy? I can't be arsed with a tux and might just go for a suit and tie...

Tbh Darek i wouldnt recommend anyone wearing a tux, you're guaranteed to sit on the grass at some point. Most guys just wear a suit, and thats what im gonna do again this year. Look forward to seeing you there mate!

Yeah, don't fancy getting a tux all messy. Suit sounds like a plan  Definately see you there (or hopefully before!) buddy, it's been too long.
Sorry to post again! Still agonising.... the dress I got was knee-length.

As for dresses, do miost of the girls (or even all of them) wear floor-length ones, or do any of them ever wear knee-length ones?

ive got a knee-length dress....and all my mates have to. Dotn worry what you sound like you have will be fine. =]
Mine's a mixture of brown, orange, and cream on the body, with thin brown straps and a peach-coloured skirt with a light caramelly-brown hem (I'll post a photo of it soonish, fingers crossed).

And what about shoes? Would it have to be heels, or would wedges/flattis be OK?

go wedges/flatties otherwise your get stuck in the grass. the dress sounds amazing.
Cool ^_^
On second thoughts... I have an even better one! In black... I shall say no more

Dress code and wrist bands are optional if method of entry is "less than orthodox".
