Hi guys. I'm a Psychology graduate, I'm also a pianist. I currently work in an IAPT service, not as a PWP, but as an Employment Support Worker. I would like to go into CBT as a PWP, and then eventually go into music therapy (I also think it would be great having a therapy background before going into music therapy). I know how to apply and everything when I get to that stage, but I just wondered if anybody here has ever applied, or been a music therapist before? Or knows anyone who ever was and how they found it? I'm interested in finding out how you/they found being a music therapist, studying the course, your life beforehand, as well as the different opportunities (if any) being a music therapist offers. Thanks X

Sorry noone has answered this - is sounds like a really interesting job (and it's interesting to know you're working in an IAPT service - there's a number of people on TSR who would likely benefit from your insight and advice on IAPT and the PWP role).

I'm really just bumping your thread in the hope someone will see it who can respond with some proper answers to your questions
