1. The questions says:

The line y=4 meets the curve y=2x^2 - x- 6 at the points P and Q. Calculate the distance PQ.

I don't need any detailed working out but the steps to get to the answer would be useful. Thanks in advance!

Well you want to find out the points on that curve where y=4, so substitute in that value to get points P and Q
Then you would just need to find the length of the line using this formula
