I often fall into the same situation. Always the friend never the boyfriend ^^ people just seem to not percieve me as date material because I'm nice, buy them presents and look after them when they are down ^^
So aye I agree with you maybe I should start being abusive and rude ^^

Recently, a few girls that I have been getting close to have not wanted to take it further because they have said that I am too pally to them, and they just wanna stay mates. Why is this?! Just because I do not swear excessively or in a vulgar manner, do not drink continually or like football, how can I be toooooooo friendly!?

Not intending to offend anyone in the process of my above rant

Do you not understand that there is a difference between being somebody's friend and being in a relationship with them?

Qualities which usually relegate you to the 'just friends' category, from what I understand, are things like clinginess, having no mystery, being dull or boring, lack of spontaneity, lack of sexual attractiveness... the list goes on.

Or, as I've also heard it put, "nobody wants to date a whiny nancy-boy who comes on TSR and moans about how all the bad guys are getting their ends away and he isn't."

Hahaha, nice.

But yeah, steer away from the 'friend-zone' qualities.

You know you're addicted when you thought this was about World Of Warcraft.

A lot of girls I know are scared of going out with male friends because they worry that if they break up it'll ruin their friendship.

I know how you feel (I'm a girl but I have friends that are boys who have discussed this.) I think the main problem is it's like having a brother, and obviously people aren't attracted to their own siblings.
Also what the above person said- they don't want to ruin the friendship. I can't tell you how cool it is for a boy to be friendly and nice instead of flirting and being annoying the whole time .
