Time to call it a day?

One of my very close friends and I have been going through a very rough patch. At the beginning of this term we were exceptionally close and saw each other more than anyone else at uni, we both agreed that we really enjoyed doing this. But as term has gone on, due to each of us following different commitments and being under a lot of pressure time and work wise, it has been very difficult to find any slots to see each other. This is putting a considerable strain on our friendship because we end up arguing over the phone about when we're next seeing each other which is damaging our friendship and bringing out the worst in both of us.

In a week's time due to the end of the term nearing, our differing commitments will be gone and we'll be a lot freerer, but by then it'll nearly be the summer holidays.

I'm just wondering at what point do you accept defeat and not bother pursuing friendships eg organising meet up?

im close to giving up too due to some friends permanently canceling.
but dont, everyone has patches when they have more going on and just be ready to go with them when youre both free. keep talking and try to be more understanding.
