I am currently looking at teaching abroad after completing my PGCE and most schools, in the area that I am looking at, state that they require at least 2 years of experience. I just wondered, is it likely that the PGCE would count for one year of experience? Or would it be post qualification?

Post-qualification, and yes, most international schools will require at least 2 years of experience before they can even give you a chance.

That is, unless you are willing to go to places like Egypt and the likes.
