Those of you thinking of Firming Warwick might like to read this and think about whether you would feel comfortable in this sort of culture : http://www.theguardian.com/education...rwick-students

One incident out of tens of thousands of students does not a culture make.

Racists aren't easy to spot through UCAS or an interview unless they are openly racist, so you can't blame the uni for admitting someone who is racist, you can however judge them on their actions following this incident.

Can I just say as a black student currently at Warwick there is definitely not a 'culture' of racism. Yes, there has been an unfortunate episode of racism but no that does not mean that any person should feel deterred from coming to the university of Warwick. Racism is everywhere the only difference is that at Warwick we have such a strong ACS and Anti-Racism society that it will be challenged- we are not afraid to have our voices heard!

For those reconsidering please have a look this video as a source of comfort that at Warwick there is NOT a culture of racism: https://youtu.be/PdBV6iGW11ohttps://...be/PdBV6iGW11o

We're 6th best in the UK, top 50 in the world. Don't let this one bad press destroy the good things that the university has built up in only 50 years

This thread by OP is absolutely ridiculous and clearly has some sort of agenda against Warwick. It will take me a 10 second Google search to find any number of similar incidents at any university in the country, which is saddening in itself, but don't tarnish Warwick because of one incident and label it as having a 'culture' of racism. I myself am an ethnic minority, living in accommodation with predominantly white students and I'm loving it!

Maybe appreciate the fact that it was STUDENTS OF WARWICK who publicised the matter so much on student newspapers and such to bring it to the attention of the university, otherwise it would have gone unnoticed, like it does in most universities.

Don't try and spread your clear bias to others.

There are racists at every university , pretty much anywhere. I think this was an isolated incident and cant be used to represent Warwick as a whole.

I'm currently at Warwick. One incident in one flat out of thousands. 1 in 3 students here are international students. I don't see any racism :/ It'd be ridiculous to let that put you off.

If you're concerned about racism there and won't apply then you're gonna be hiding your whole life especially with that username if it represents you
