    Hi guys,

I feel like I have a mild problem. I'm only 18, but for the past 5 years or so, I have been living "in the past", so to speak. That is, I constantly think about good memories from previous years. It may sound a bit realistic and even naive given my age, but I fear its a real problem stopping me from enjoying the present. Obviousl I sometimes end up regretting it. Is there any way I can avoid this/I can seek help?

    Thank you

Make lots of plans for the future, both long-term and short-term. Make sure you always have something good too look forward to, even if it is just an episode of a tv show or something small

Remembering memories is not a bad thing however constantly wanting to go back, imagining today as a date in the past must be very hard.

I can suggest try to make a list each week, like:
    1)monday-bowling
    2)tuesday-movie
    3)wednasday-nice dinner etc.

So you have something to look forward to?

Seek things you can be grateful for in the present; it can be absolutely anything, even something small like it being a sunny day . There's nothing wrong with having good memories about the past but you're falling into a trap whereby you keep comparing your life to a higher standard - instead stop comparing one day to another and just think about the good things, even the small ones, you can see in everyday life.
