I going to NCS in the summer and I am petrified of water. The person that I spoke to said that I don't have to take part in them if I don't want to but I am still extremely worried that they will try and make me. So, I was wondering how many water sports they usually do and if it is possible to not take part. Thank you

I did NCS last summer. They will NOT allow you to do watersports activities such as kayaking or raft building without wearing one of those inflatable vests. Probably the scariest thing I did was where a group of people in kayaks linked together and two people, most of the time from opposite ends would have to walk on these kayaks and switch places without falling into the water.
We had someone who was also terrified of water. We cheered her on and eventually she made it
    Have fun. Remember:

I think the only water sports I did was gill scrambling (climbing up some stream) and canoeing or kayaking or something. The first one didn't get you that wet, the water came up to about my shin and the second one we had life jackets on. But you can say you don't want to do something and they'll be fine about it. They might ask you if you're sure but they're all nice and they're not gonna force you.

I had a lot of fun even when we did activities I didn't really want to do. You'll have fun
