""Two more horses have died at the Grand National meeting, making this week’s Aintree festival the deadliest in five years.
Both Gullinbursti and Minella Reception were fatally injured after falling at the notorious Becher’s Brook fence on Friday.
They become the third and fourth equines to die at this year’s festival after two horses died on opening day on Thursday.

The last time the festival saw four horse deaths was in 2011. 46 Horses have died at the event since 2000, an average of 2.88 per year.

The League Against Cruel Sports recommends removing the Becher's Brook fence where Gullinbursti and Minella Reception were fatally injured and reducing the field of any race to a maximum of 30 runners."

Such a terrible shame. I'm with the league of cruel sports on this.
    So...thoughts?

My thoughts on this? Or my thoughts on the racing?

I dislike the league and I like racing.

No need to have such deadly hurdles. Plenty of races have low or no jumps at all.

The race in its current format, is a dated idea, in my opinion.

No jumps can still be very dangerous. Just look at the Palio di Siena.

I meant your thoughts on racing.

Why do you dislike the league? they seem reasonable enough?

I won £55 from £5 thanks to a horse falling over in a race on Friday. It didn't die though and even finished the race, just not with its jockey riding it. It blocked a few horses in front of mine allowing mine to win

Well I like racing how it is.

I dislike the league because I shoot and I used to hunt back in the day.

"Yeah, blowing living creatures away with my big, combustible penis replacement and seeing animals ridden atop and whipped to the point of somersaulting and landing on their necks is my kinda bag."

That's one big heart ya got there.

It wouldn't very fun if they were dead now would it?

Normally they break their legs and get shot afterwards.

Never said I had a big heart.

I get the sense you're lacking in a lot of things.

A period of self-reflection would probably do you some good. I'd like to refrain from any further negativity if that's okay with you; there's quite enough of that flying about. Along with the bullets, horse's bodies, etc.
