I'm an international student... Can someone explain this question to me? What are the factors that need to be accounted for? :frown:

When you are designing any experiment, there is a number of factors or parameters that could change your results if you do not try to remove them or consider them when you are analysing your data.

Here it is asking specifically about drug trials with painkillers. An example would be patients on other medication. If the study participants are using other drugs at the time of the trial you cannot prove that the person is feeling better because of your drug and not the other drug they are taking. Basically the way I understand the question is suggest what parameters could skew your results.
