The colon reabsorbs water

I am studying biology right now and I can't figure out why it says "the colon reabsorbs water" so, were has the water first been absorbed??

I think you're misunderstanding the statement - it's basically saying the water that is present in your food which you've eaten, once digested, needs to be absorbed again. The colon is therefore responsible for reabsorbing that water.
