    Hi

I work part time in a local pharmacy and get paid minimum wage (£5.30/hr) now I recently turned 21 so I should get paid £6.70/hr right? But when I started working I never signed a contract so thought it was nothing serious-just a 4hr-a-week Saturday job.

Recently my boss told me to fill out a form (HMRC related) which just asked for my name, NI number, address etc...

    Now I'm thinking...

Should I be paid £6.70? (there is no contract that I signed when starting)
By working, will I get a lower maintenance grant amount?

My boss says b/c I earn such a small amount I am not taxed anything.

Now I know these sound like dumbass questions but this is my first job I've ever had.

    Thanks

If you're a dependent student it shouldnt be a problem but either way you wont earn enough for it to effect your grant. Yes your wage should go up now you're 21
