You can set up an account online or in your local bank. I'd set up a student account, a lot of banks offer them now, e.g santander and barclays

I would look around online to see which bank offers the best account, for example, I know quite a few unis have banks in the student union or on campus. Maybe find out if there is an accesible branch near your university?

Every bank will have different perks and freebies with their student bank acvount, so we can't tell you. The best one is the one that offers you what you want. Most people find the free overdraft facility pretty crucial.
