On Monday I start my 2-day work experience in the radiography department. For those who have done the same, what sort of things do you do while you're there? Do you just shadow someone the whole time or do you do some things yourself? Thanks

Work experience in a Radiography department is just watching, you do get to interact with patients. Depending on how much interest you show you should get a lot out of it. obviously you can't take a scan of a patient, but if you show a keen interest the team will be more willing to make an effort to give you a really good experience. I got to have a go at manuvering the x-ray tube whilst a patient wasn't in the room, I also got to have a go at telling a patient what they had to do next and where they had to go after the x-ray. I even got to help take a patient from one of the wards down to have an angiogram. So it really is what you make of it. I really enjoyed it, eventhough it is just shadowing
