Following his unanimous decision win over Timothy Bradley last night, Manny Pacquiao announces that he is retiring from boxing. Let this be a tribute to one of the icons of the sporting world.

The little man was a hell of a fighter.

World titles in eight different weight classes was it? Incredible.

He wouldn't so much outbox opponents as pummel them, a real crowd-pleaser and entertainer.

    He'll be missed

An incredible fighter who put bums on seats and had, probably will forever, a big impact on his homeland. Even though the end of his career was up and down a tad, at his peak, he was frightening.

Strange how little coverage this is receiving. I know it's because he's come out as homophobic but money was revered after he was a known women and child beater.

    Exciting fighter.

Possibly because we know Manny will probably have one more fight.

This. The only boxer I'm convinced who is truly retired these days is Froch.

True but Come on man remind yourself of the hype when floyd first 'retired'? And you think floyd is truely retired now?

This generally doesn't stop the media from reporting/ overhyping the situation but here pac is persona non grata. I don't think bbc even have any report on manny's fight. I don't blame them nor care really but it's just weird given floyd's history.
