What to ask at hospital work shadowing??

Hi i'm going to be doing some work shadowing at a hospital for a week and I was just wondering what sort of questions would be good to ask??

Who are you shadowing and in what department?

Always good to ask about any patients you see - their condition, treatment, patient journey (eg. how did they get referred to you, what follow-up will they receive/where will they go next?). Ask the person your shadowing about what a typical day/week is like for them, if they do unsociable hours and how they find it. What the best and worst parts of their job are.

Im shadowing a doctor in the neonatal department. Ok, thanks for the advice!

Ah that will be interesting. Pay close attention to how the doctor communicates with the parents and families. That's very ripe ground for reflection for your PS. Also how the multidisciplinary team works together. Try and talk to some nurses about their job as well
