Hey all, So I'm studying a BA in Journalism and Communications and I'd really like to get into copywriting as a career. But I also have a long time dream of moving to New York (I know, stereotypical as hell right, become a writer in NY) My main concern is that in terms of visa's, I know that only certain careers are wanted in America. Does anybody know anything about whether I'd be likely to make it to New York as a copywriter (focusing in advertising) or if it wouldn't be considered a viable career? Thanks in advance!

    Your plan sounds exciting!

It would probably help if you could get in with a company before moving or you could take up another job first and then move over to writing or do it freelance?

Hi, I live in NYC! The best thing to do would be to get an internship or a job with a company here prior to moving! You can PM me if you need more info!
