Homesickness

Hey guys. No need for anonymity here, it doesn't solve anything.

Today I went on a talk radio show because my best mate from back home in Glasgow was presenting on it, so I thought I'd give her a phone and participate in the show. It was a great laugh.

After her show was over she phoned me and we had a great long chat about how we were all doing, and reminiscing about Uni days.

Now, I moved from Glasgow to London a year ago because I got a job here and I've never really been homesick. Sure, I've missed people but these things happen.

But when I got off the phone to my mate I just started crying. Not just sniffling but actually bawling. I've just realised that I've never felt so alone in all my life.

Don't get me wrong, I have friends here. My workmates are all a great bunch and I have a few pals outwith work. But when I get home I suddenly feel really alone.

What surprises me about this is that I'm usually a really optimistic and caring guy, and I've always got time for other people and their problems. But the thing is, I rarely tell people my problems because I don't like to bother them.

Basially a number of circumstances have combined to get me really down recently, and I just need advice on how to get out of this rut, other than finding new friends (which I'm attempting to do) and going on medication (which I refuse to do).

I've not cried in about a year, and honestly can't remember the last time I did it as extreme as this. :frown:

not all people get bothered by haering someone elses problems, all good friends know the value of talking through their friends problem. There is a difference between feeling homesick and feeling lonely are you lonely at home cos there's no one else there, or specifically because you want to be with your friends from scotland?

Well, 95% or my friends are in Scotland, so i think that's the problem.
