So i have an unconditional offer for law at aberdeen uni for the course starting September. Recently i have been debating taking a gap year to work and earn and save money and also just mature a little and learn more about myself as a growing young adult. Not sure whether i should just go to uni this year or next year. Thoughts?

I would say consider the pros and cons of each then make an informed decision. Were you just planning on working or planning things in between? Just be wary that getting a job is not that easy any more and you don't want to spend your gap year sitting around at home wishing you had gone to university. Also the other thing you should consider is it's easy to get addicted to having your own income - I took what was meant to be a year out and didn't go back for years. It was great having so much money and doing as I pleased but after a while I hated my dead end job and wished I'd gone to university with all my other age group. I struggled (still struggling!) to get back into education now because of my decision and choices since starting work

Yeh, I would agree.... It's a difficult one. Depends, what you want to do but I'd say only do a gap year if you have a really clear plan what you are going to do with your time. You can always do one after uni.
