It seems as though I am sick of my short hair (I have the wrong shaped head for short hair) and want something more elaborate but just don't know how to ask the barber or hairdresser.

What if my hair isn't capable of being like the style I want? How am I supposed to know?

Why dont you try growing your hair longer for a while and then return to get it styled ?

Or try looking up pictures on google, tumblr, pinterest, instagram etc of your ideal haircut. Then take those pics to your barber/hairdresser and ask them to give you something similar.

I mean I don't know how accurate these are (probably not accurate at all), but there are websites and quizzes online where it asks what head shape you have (amongst other details) and it finds that perfect hairstyle to fit your face shape and personality.

    Hope this helps !

I did find a random pic of someone on Instagram but I wont post it here due to privacy etc.

But I guess I have a large-ish forehead and a square-ish jaw. My current short hair does not suit my head lol. I want to grow it slightly longer and have something substantial on top.

I guess I will try to find those websites then.
