Anyone else noticed the people with the best grades don't tend to be the best looking or most popular? Granted most aren't total outcasts either and are usually not hideous but they don't tend to be stunners like most of the popular airheads. Do you guys feel this is true, I know it may be different if you go to a private school but in state schools this seems to be the general rule. Are top universities which don't do dossy courses filled with 5's and 6's?

I know lots of attractive smart people. I find with males in particular they tend to be late bloomers anyway.

    For the popular thing

    1) ppl with good grades spend more time studying generally
    2) this means less time to do sports and socialise at clubs etc generally
    3) this means less time to make friends/deeper connections generally
    4) also some 'popular guys/girls' are inseucre about their academic ability and are jealous of them doing well so dont include them in their circles.....generally

as for looks, no one can have everything generally

Do you guys feel this is true
    I think it is.....generally

Remember reading this a while back:
    https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog...re-intelligent

LSE also had a study relating to something related to this on their website a while ago.

Edit: found what I was looking for

I think the people who get the best grades do tend to be the most popular/best looking. At least in secondary school.

    Except me

Nah, you'll find that more intelligent people generally care less about their appearance and aren't superficial.

I suppose it's less common to have both gifts of (natural) intelligence and natural attractiveness, although there are things you can do to help one if you possess the other (i.e. work really hard, or work out and get good at subtle makeup :sly:)

'tis the way of life, and we all work with what we got amirite

Sounds like something someone invented to feel good about themselves.

    Didn't work.

that's a cliché. When I was in college there was a girl that got A* A* A* A in her A-levels and she looks exactly like mila kunis but with shorter hair

I've not noticed any correlation between attractiveness and intelligence at my school. In fact I don't think there is one

Definitely not. I know plenty of very good looking people who are also very intelligent. There's no correlation.
