Residential Camps/ Volunteer Programmes for Summer (15/16 year old)
(I didn't have a clue where to post this, so I put it here...)
GCSEs for me finish in just over two weeks, and then i have a roughly 10 week summer holiday...
Of course, I just want to have fun with friends for the majority of the time, but I want to do "something else" as well. Ok - this is going to be really hard to explain, but I want to get away and do something that's not a part of my normal life - not a holiday, but either a residential camp where I can do new things, or a volunteer programme where I can travel somewhere and do something valuable... (if this makes any sense :s)
I just wanted to know if any one knows any companies whcih offer something like this? I'll be 15, but I know that this is always a problem ,so I can wait until August, when I'll be 16...

There's quite a few residential camps in the UK now - bit like the US summer camp idea. This website offers some - http://www.campbeaumont.co.uk/summer-camps/index.asp - and if you do a google search for residential camps there's a load of others. There's also this kind of thing for 16 year olds - http://www.tochparticipation.co.uk/get-involved/volunteering-opportunities/SCANS-Childrens-Holiday.htm - this one's in July so you won't be old enough but just to give you an idea. Again, google volunteering holiday age 16.
