Would you think that a woman who went to the cinema on her own was a loner/bit weird?

I wouldn't say so, but that's just me. I'm a guy, so I guess it's a little different, but I've been to the cinema on my own plenty of times and I've never let it bother me. If you wanna see the film, and no-one else does, don't let that stop you! It all comes down to whether or not you really want to watch the film, because at the end of the day you're there to see a film, not talk to friends, so that should be the important matter.

I always do it, especially if I finish early from Uni (around Midday) and just watch anything interesting on and honestly, there are plenty others with their backpacks inside as well.

Even if I'm not coming back from Uni, if no-one wants to watch a film I'll just go myself. Not weird at all.

    No, never.

I have been to the cinema on my own on several occasions, if you wanna go see a damn film go see one.

It seems a bit childish to need someone to metaphorically hold your hand just so YOU can watch a movie YOU want to see.

It would make sense to go see a film with friends if they want to also watch it, more social. But there is nothing wrong in going by yourself IMO

Nah its not weird. I would go on my own if there was a new movie I was dying to see. I don't think it's any different to having lunch etc on your own, I mean, some may feel a bit uncomfortable but idgi, you can watch movies in your room alone etc, how is this any different? You do you boo.

I don't think anyone cares about the other people there unless they are being loud/annoying. They go there to watch the film, not you.

I wouldn't think it's at all weird, just shows that person wants to watch that movie, what's wrong with that? Okay the cinema is a great time for 'socialising' but what's the whole point because you can't exactly talk and all that in the cinema anyway and for me at least even when I go with people we just focus on the movie, sometimes it's like you're alone anyway.

    Not weird at all.

Value your own company as much as the company of others'.

It's funny because people associate the cinema to be a social event, but there's nothing social about watching a film.

Better imo nothing worse than compromising or going to see a film you dont really want to see and pretending to like it.

    I dunno, probably not.

Just go if you want to go.

The only problem with this is encountering immature younger people who would think it is weird.
