Being sick after eating...

...Not deliberately.

About three weeks ago I was sick a few times after eating some more than slightly dodgy food...Then I went on holiday for a week and was fine, but since I've got back I can hardly eat without being sick. It's usually at least once a day, often more, and there isn't any particular food that seems to trigger it.

I'm sure it's a psychological thing because otherwise it would've kept happening while I was away, and I can also eat after a couple of drinks, but I really don't know what to do. And I love food...I want to eat! My doctor wasn't hugely helpful though I am going to mention it to my psychiatrist next week...

It's just I'm getting weak, shakey and frustrated and I wondered if anyone had any ideas :frown:

there's nothing I can really suggest:frown:
I had the same problem , just with meat, I can't have it anymore without feeling really sick cus I had it once and felt SOOOO sick, thinking of eating it now just makes me shudder!
You just neeed to maybe eat smaller meals and then build it up gradually to train your body to pyschologically handle food again
i had a similar thing, but mine was anxiety related - not because of any certain foods i ate. is there any possibility that your problem could be linked to stess or anything like that?

Yeah, definitely. I've been transferring uni/finding a new house/all sorts of problems with a couple of friends, and I have pretty bad depression which never helps matters. It's just really weird...Usually I'm way more likely to eat too much, if anything...I just physically need to keep a few decent meals down :frown:

yeah, i know what you mean, it's horrible. i had no idea other people had this problem! do you have a councillor/therapist? i can't say that councilling really helped me, but i know it's effectiveness varies from person to person, so that might help. if you want to talk about it, you can always PM me because i totally understand what you're going through! xx

I see my psychiatrist every couple of weeks, but that's mainly to keep an eye on how my antidepressants are doing...Had CBT for a while but I didn't really get on with it. It's just so frustrating isn't it? Every time I'm sick I end up crying cause I just can't understand what's going on!
