    Hey all

I will shortly be moving to New York for a 2 year placement with work. I'm not getting a payrise, but my pay is being increased to cover the super high cost of living compared to my current location (South, outside of London)

This means my monthly student loan repayments will rise from around £150 per month to £350 per month, as US overseas repayment rate begins at £14,000. This would be difficult for me to cover financially as I will need to save for health insurance co-pays for pre-existing conditions.

I've emailed SLC to see if they would accept £200 a month which is above the maximum monthly default repayment for the US (£196 per month). Has anyone had experience of this?
