O?

Cool thanks, we sort of thought of that as an interjection word or something... any other ideas aswell ppl?

Reply 4

Don't forget y  hehe

Reply 5

Does that mean there is another single letter word? Otherwise you couldn't really say what the 3 shortest ones are because there are quite a few two letter ones.

Reply 6

I doubt there is another single letter word..and I've no idea what the 3rd shortest word is, there are lots of 2 letter words!

e.g. it, to, of etc. Good luck!

'What are the 3 shortest words in the english dictionary?'

This sounds like trick question. The answer could be any three letters as they all have entries in a dictionary. If it is a trick question though then the answer would depend on the exact way the question was asked.

if its a trick question maybe its a, i and on as in the three shortest words in the words 'english dictionary' that is being on as the only 2 letter word in it, although i may be wrong

Reply 9

I think the answer might just be "the" and "English" and "dictionary".

Reply 10

i'm thinking "the", "english", and "dictionary"

As I say, that depends on the exact phrasing of the question.

thanks guys and girls  .. I think that:

"if its a trick question maybe its a, i and on as in the three shortest words in the words 'english dictionary" by cvat ..

,is right and definitely sounds the most likely trick question answer.

Still open for discussion if anyone else got other ideas.

There are a lot of 2 letter words. We have a list of them that can be used in scrabble. So unless there's another one letter word, it has to be a trick question.

Reply 15

If it's serious, 'a' and 'i' are obviously two of them...

yeah that will only work though if it excludes 'the' - as there's a 'he' in it, but tell me once you get the answer lol, it'd be a nice morale boost before my gcses

If it's serious, a, I and O. But O is usually used as an exclamation or interjection...I don't know if it counts as a word.
