Hi, Iv'e seen all this stuff about Brighton University moving Hastings campus and I want to know why this is. I'm considering applying to Brighton University to do Sports Journalism. Is it a bad idea to apply to go to Hastings campus now? I've also seen a picture on twitter showing where the new courses will be held if Hastings campus closes, i'm not sure if it's fake or not but according to this picture Sports Journalism will be moved to the Eastbourne campus while Multimedia Journalism will be moved to the Brighton campus, which doesn't make sense. Also anyone else who's applying for sports journalism where are you going?

If you’re looking to study Sport Journalism at the University of Brighton in September 2016 you will remain at the Hastings campus for the whole of your studies. However if you are looking to start your course in 2017 then Sport Journalism and Journalism will both be based at the university’s Eastbourne campus.

Eastbourne was in fact home to our Sport Journalism course until 2015– it was the first Sport Journalism degree to be accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) and remains one of the most successful in the UK. Eastbourne is where all our sport related courses are based so it provides an excellent environment in which to study and write about sport plus it has lots of on-campus sporting facilities.

Our next open day at the Eastbourne campus to find out more and meet the course team is on Saturday 25 June – more details here: https://www.brighton.ac.uk/studying-here/visit-us/open-days/ug-campus-open-days/index.aspx You can also read related stories on our blog http://blogs.brighton.ac.uk/sasm/
