# AQA AS and A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics UMS information, please watch

1. Hi all,

I am doing the AQA AS and A level Mathematics (6360) and Further Mathematics (6360) specification.

What percentage UMS do you need for A, B, C and D in AS levels in both subjects? What percentage UMS do you need for A*, A, B, C and D in A levels in both subjects? How do the AS and A level UMS scores combine?

I cannot find this on the AQA website and I have heard conflicting information.

Thank you!

For an A, you need 80% of the UMS total, a B is 70%, a C is 60% and so on. This is true for both the AS and A2 exams.

In A2 Maths, to get an A*, you need to get at least 90% on the combined UMS total of Core 3 and Core 4 as well as an 80% average overall. For example, you can get 90/100 in C3 and 90/100 in C4 for an A*, or 80/100 on C3 and 100/100 on C4 and that is still an A*, provided you meet at least 480/600 overall in C1234 and two applied units.

In A2 Further Maths, to get an A*, you need to get at least 90% on the combined UMS total of the best three A2 units which contributed to the A2 award in Further Maths, as well as an 80% average overall.

Hope this helps
