Hangover is lasting forever

Ok so basically I went out Saturday night and drank way too much for my own good. I never usually drink this heavily and it had quite a bad effect on me. I got completely trollied and started crying uncontrollably etc...

The next day I felt ok in the morning but as the day went on I started to feel awful. I had a v bad stomach ache in particular and an upset stomach. I tried to eat to make myself feel better but it just made it worse.

Early this morning (about 4am) I was woken up by the stomach pains and ended up being sick. I'm quite worried now as this hangover seems to be lasting ages. Is what I'm describing normal? Surely I shouldnt be vomiting a day after?

Help!

I've had that happen a few times. Probably because you havent drank that much in a while. Just drink heaps of water and sleep if you can. It should pass soon.

If you frank a larger than usual amount of alcohol, its going to take a longer than usual time for body to metabolise it all. I wouldnt say its anything out of the ordinary, but if it persists, get yourself along to the doctors.

Remember, pain is weakness leaving the body!

Don't drink too quickly though because if you're anything like me that'll just make you sick again.

If you drank more than usual, it's entirely possible you were still a bit drunk when you woke up, hence not feeling too bad, and then the hangover kicked in throughout the day.

Alcohol irritates your stomach lining, and so that's why you've been feeling awful, it's just going on for longer because you drank more. Stick to small amounts (but regularly) of water, and only eat bland stuff that you feel like eating - don't force yourself.

Someone told me the cure to a hangover is to drink more alcohol. Tried it last week and it DOES work to cure the sharp pains you may have in your stomach. I drank half a bottle of cider (Magners/Bulmers) which seemed to do the trick surprisingly. You just have to make sure you drink it slowly.

I'm serious.. why y'all lookin' at me like that?!

Well this should not happen for more than one day but something is wrong in your case. I think you take a proper treatment from Doctor and get yourself relaxed.

Try to eat things with a low fat content, toast with no butter is good for your stomach. I'd keep up the fluids and if your still feeling ill tomorrow go and see a doctor. I'd avoid fizzy pop but flat iron brew or lucozade untill your feeling a bit better but i find them useful. Alka selza XS is also good to settle your stomach.
