No, its not bad.. do most people have 'a song'? Sentimental clap trap!! Just make one up and tell your girlfriend it always reminds you of her and makes you smile or something

It doesn't matter. It can be a mutual song that you've both listened to together, or it's a personal thing..which is it for her. Don't worry about it.

I thought only us girls did that anyway lol

It's a personal song... the lyrics for Sweet Child O Mine by Guns n Roses. We have listened to it together. I will admit that although she's the 'man' of the relationship, she's much more soppy and romantic than I am!

Does chivalrous mean an old fashioned male romantic, BTW?

Oooh, I love the twist!

Though it does throw the sexist joke I was about to make out of the window... (no it's not bad and tbh, unless there's a radio in the kitchen, she shouldn't have a song for you either)

But really, it's not something you can force so if you don't have a song, you don't have a song. There's nothing you can do about it.

nahh, i wouldn't read into it too much. I have the same dilemma with my guy. I often feel that he is a LOT more sentimental than me, and he gets gooey very fast whereas i choose to be more pragmatic about things. Its just a case of different strokes for different folks, you can't FORCE yourself to feel the same way your girlfriend does. I mean, my boyfriend practically has withdrawal symptoms when he can't see me for a day, but i just learn to live with him clinging to my waist i guess.
We've been together for two years, very happily so, so i guess it can't be THAT much of an inconvenience ;-)

it was the thing about the radio in the kitchen, ie, women belong in the kitchen so would only hear songs if there was a radio in there...

heh

Nothing wrong with that, you don't need a song to remind you of her! I quite agree with whoever it was who labelled it as 'sentimental clap trap', as that's all it really is. Having said that, there are certain songs which make me think of my bf, but only because they happen to be songs which are on the most played, and therefore the first played songs on his itunes, and it is often when I am with him that I hear those songs.
