Is this a sign he won't be asking me out Watch

I have a work collegue that I really like and he found out suddenly that he had been promoted onto a different team. He loves working in our team as was sad to go but would have been daft to turn down no the offer.

We've been flirting for months now and I am leaving in three months time. When I discussed my leaving do he said 'I know I will be gone by then but you better still invite me, I've been looking forward to it'. So I assured him I would be inviting him.

He might also haven a leaving do but that's not confirmed.

I had been hoping he was planning to ask me on a date after his last day so does what he said suggest he won't? Like he's expecting our next meeting to be my leaving party.

Your thinking too much into it. Sounds like he likes you, maybe he's waiting for his chance and will take it at your 'leaving do'. I'd either ask him yourself or keep in touch because 3 months is a long time not speaking to someone in this way and make sure you do invite him to the 'do' when the time comes.

I don't see why you can't suggest something ask him out for a coffee or lunch. He might not know how you feel about him so as he is leaving this could be your chance to show him how you feel but it may also be easier as you both aren't working together soon, is he your superior? If yes then its good he is leaving as it would have been awkward if you were going out.

Why you leaving in 3 months?
