    Both are difficult concepts, especially freedom. Your freedom to do something could easily restrict someone else's freedom to do something else.

    Neither is all that desirable if taken to the nth degree.

    The 2 concepts are far too abstract to be compared? What kind of equality are we talking about? Freedom to do what?

    However, freedom can be seen as objectively good for society, whereas equality can involve bringing certain people up to the detriment of others, so on that basis I'd go with freedom.

    The two aren't exactly incompatible though, given equality of opportunity is conducive to the freedom to do what you want, and freedom for everyone in turn necessarily entails people given the same rights.
