First exam with a hang over.

Iv gotta go out tonight, their's no backing out, an im gonna end up drinking a fair bit, unfortunately im not gonna be able to do the whole sticking to cokes or take it steady because of the crowd im with tonight, im looking forward to it as per usual but not looking forward to an exam with a hangover, i know it seems like a dumb move drinking when theirs an exam to follow, but i cant miss out on this one. Anyone else done exams after a night out an managed ok?? Im starting to think maybe i should just do my best to take it steady.

You can go out and have fun without drinking enough to give yourself a hangover. Problem solved.

I guess you haven't heard of self control.

just drink water with the booze all night and go home not late. drink like a litre of water before you go to bed and take a couple of paracetemols. good luck. hope its too important an exam!

Yeah i have got some self control, just not this week, an considering one of the lads who is coming out had his dad die not so long ago, an said to me we should go out an get smashed one night soon, i could hardly say noooo iv got an exam an must have self control an change it to another night an tell all your other mates to arrange it for another night, but unlucky about your dad mate, just would seem a bit cruel, anywayz think i will stick to water and beer through the night and paracetamols when i get in.
cheers:smile:

What kind of weird place are you from where you need to get drunk to show someone you're sorry their dad died

Just tell them you've got an exam next day, I can't believe they'd give you a hard time about it if they have a mental age above 14.

Seems like a silly idea to me.

But anyway - it's your life. Here's my advice;
Ditto with the water - drink loads. And if you can get your drinks with orange juice instead of a fizzy drink, that's a bonus. The vitamin C will help clear out the toxins. Failing that (or in addition to that), take a vitamin C tablet before you go out.

Your friend can apply for extenuating circumstances if he messes up his exams, but you can't.

I'm sure he doesn't expect everyone to risk doing badly in their exams just to get smashed with him. It's a fairly straight forward situation, just either compromise by coming along for a bit and having a couple of drinks, or say "no I've really got to revise my exam's tomorrow, another time mate." Unless he's a selfish idiot he won't have a problem with it.

Tough decision. Exams would be top on my priority list, unless it was life-threatening.

Not the same "stuck up my own arse place as you obviously" i showed him i was sorry via a card and saying to him im sorry like most people did it was about a month ago now hence going out for some drinks now because he hasn't for a while because he was so down, when he said "since my dad died iv felt really bad, but i just wanna go have a good night out now, you have to come along an we will get smashed", i am not gonna say no to him NO.
I guess you would know exactly how to speak to someone an deal with a situation like this though cos your an expert.
Anway im not replying anymore cos your already starting to **** me off.

Thanks for the other replies, which will be of some use to me.

Why do you have to go out on this particular night? Why don't you suggest a night out after your exams are finished?

Aww, bless. Exams are clearly evil. Let's spread some love! :hugs:

Peer pressure is a glorious thing.

Reply 16

Why can't you just say no? Letting other people dictate how you live your life is the worst thing you can do.

Reply 17

You really should get out of it if you can. Your friend will understand.

If you have no choice then just stick to lager, throw in a few waters and make sure you eat something before you go to bed.

Reply 18

drinking milk may be good for you. drinking a glass of milk before going out provides your stomach with a layer and makes you feel less sick. otherwise go to the bar alone and order a small coke, and if anyone asks its a double. they'll never know.

you sound like a nob how have you got such **** self control, i hope ur neg reps for this...
