If you meet the entry requirements for the foundation course, and then pass the foundation year successfully then you are accepted onto the medicine degree. See here for more information https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/elt/foundation/medicine/

There is no easy way to get into medicine. The foundation course is designed to give a knowledge base for the medicine degree, the difficulty is about the same as A-level, and you have to score highly - the equivalent of the A-level requirements for the normal medicine course - to pass and get into the medicine degree.

The good thing about the foundation course is that if you do get high enough grades in it to meet the medicine entrance requirements then you automatically move on to the medicine degree without having to make another application, so long as you also get a good score on the UKCAT, in the medical school interview and in IELTS (7.0).

The link I gave you before has all the information about the international foundation programme, the entrance requirements and what is studied on it. If you meet the entrance requirements then it is a good course to take, especially if you cannot take A-levels or equivalent qualifications.
